The 30th Celebration product list
On September 1 Pokemon.com published its monthly release list, and every entry is 30th Celebration on September 16: an Elite Trainer Box with nine booster packs, a full-art Nidorina promo, 65 sleeves, 16 foil energies, dice, a coin and a storage box; a Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Box with eleven packs and two Nidorina promos (one with the Pokemon Center logo); a Poster Collection with a poster of 160-plus cards from the set, three legendary bird promos (Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres) and three packs; a Pokemon ex Box with Sylveon ex or Greninja ex as foil promos in standard and oversized versions plus four packs; a Tech Sticker Collection with Alolan Exeggutor or Lucario promos and three packs; and a Knock Out Collection with a foil Eevee, a plastic coin and two packs. No prices were listed.
What is in the set
The English set is 199 cards: 128 in the main set, 33 secret rares, 30 Classic Collection reprints and eight basic energies. Every card is foil and packs hold six cards instead of five. The main set includes 30 different Pikachus, each by a different illustrator, with one in every pack, plus day-and-night paired illustrations and a new Futuristic rare tier by the Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN. It is the first Pokemon TCG expansion to launch simultaneously worldwide.
For the market: a guaranteed Pikachu per pack and all-foil packs mean the set's individual chase cards will be plentiful and the thirty-Pikachu subset will function as a collection within the collection. The 2021 Celebrations set, the last anniversary product, fell 2.1 percent in this week's Index as attention moves to its successor.
TCG Live's study season
Pokemon TCG Live's Worlds celebration ended at 10 a.m. Pacific today. The Fall Study Season for Regionals begins with Build & Battle and Bitty Basic Brawl Trainer Trial events from September 3 to 15, and the client's largest update of the year, including settings to turn off card and gameplay effects, lands September 15, the day before 30th Celebration.
Pocket's Rocket month
Team Rocket's Ambition released in Pokemon TCG Pocket on August 26 and its month of missions, emblems and puzzle campaign runs through September 29. The 2000 Team Rocket set in our vintage basket read -0.4 percent this week; whatever effect a Pocket spotlight has on paper prices, it has not shown up in the first week.
