Delta Reign's first reveals beyond the headliners

On Tuesday, September 22, The Pokemon Company International gave Serebii the exclusive first reveal of two cards from Mega Evolution: Delta Reign: a standard Zarude illustrated by Nisota Niso and an illustration rare Azurill by Narumi Sato. They are the first cards shown from the set that are not the Mega Rayquaza, Golurk, Malamar and Golisopod ex headliners announced on August 20. Delta Reign releases November 6 with 135-plus cards and 35-plus special illustrations; prerelease events start October 24. With 30th Celebration's chase prices settling within a week of launch, the question for Delta Reign is whether The Pokemon Company keeps the generous pull rates or returns to the tighter Mega Evolution distribution of the spring.

Pocket: Rocket month ends, new set Wednesday

Team Rocket's Ambition launched in Pokemon TCG Pocket on August 26 and its month of missions, emblems and puzzle campaign ends on September 29. Pocket's next set is scheduled for September 30. We have been watching the 2000 Team Rocket set in our vintage basket for a Pocket effect; it read flat for four weeks after the launch and moved +0.8 percent in the week of September 17, before the engine paused. One reading is not evidence of anything, and we will not have a clean read until the feed resumes.

Five months on Standard

PSA's Standard tier opened September 14 with a 90-100 business day quote. Counting business days from the opening, that lands in the first half of February for a day-one submission, and later for anything sent after the 30th Celebration wave. For a $59.99 card with a $1,000 cap, five months is the whole trade-off: the Lead in this issue has the tier table and our view.

October 6

PSA's next fortnightly update is due October 6. From 9 million at the current pace, 8.1 million would mean the clearance rate held at 450,000 a week with Standard-tier inflow added; anything above 8.3 million would mean Standard is slowing the path to the 5 million Value threshold.
