The Index is a proprietary model built by Rip Station, which publishes The Pack Report. Method, full history and the trend chart.

This reading is September 28 against September 21, and like Thursday's it is not a reading.

Status

Rip Station's pricing engine, which the Index is built from, has published no new lane prices for any basket card since September 15. Thursday's issue explained the pause; nothing has changed since. The tables below are included for continuity and carry no information.

What we will do when it resumes

The first reading after the engine resumes will be compared against September 14, the last reading with real re-marks, rather than against the paused weeks. It will therefore cover two to three weeks of market movement in one number, and we will say so. We expect it to be large and positive for vintage: since September 14 the public market has printed a $1 million First Edition Charizard, a $2.7 million Torchic Gold Star, two Illustrators at $5 million and $2.8 million, a $575,000 Legendary Collection Charizard, a $600,000 Neo Revelation Ampharos, a $900,000 Garchomp LV.X and this morning's $8.4 million Raincoat Pikachu. The sets in our vintage basket most exposed to those results are Legendary Collection, Team Rocket Returns, Neo Genesis and Base Set.

Modern

The modern basket had not posted a positive reading in eleven before the pause, and 30th Celebration launched on September 16 with the most generous pull rates of the modern era. When the feed resumes we expect the two Celebrations sets and Ascended Heroes to read lower, and we will look at adding 30th Celebration to the basket once it has a month of comps.

The Index ran in The Pack Report, September 28, 2026: $8.4 Million for a Raincoat Pikachu, and a $3.7 Million Mudkip. Published by Rip Station.
